[TRACK REVIEW] You Me At Six - Night People

THIS REVIEW IS WRITTEN BOTH IN SPANISH (ABOVE) AND ENGLISH (BELOW)

(SPANISH)

Me encanta.

[ENGLISH]

It's been two months since my last upload but I promise I've been working on new material (aka reviews), and, you know, procrastination is also there. Since new music came out I decided I would return stronger than before. Recently, two bands I absolutely love, You Me At Six and Jimmy Eat World released a song from their upcoming albums and as soon as I listened to them, I started to write a track review for each. I'll start with YMAS first and I'll upload another post for Jimmy's one later. Stay tuned!

English rock band You Me At Six has been teasing us during this week with some pictures and a streaming that drove us crazy. Since I am a huge YMAS fan, I (and the rest of their followers) couldn't help but think that new music was right around the corner. I was right. The first single of their upcoming album, Night People, has been premiered today on BBC Radio 1 and hell yes it's what we wanted, it's what we needed. The song starts with a weird static-like noise which is a bit annoying to be honest. As the track goes forward, we can hear some heavy guitar riffs and a drumming beat with a slight hip hop vibe. Josh Franceschi's voice stands out specially during the chorus ("We are night people roaming these streets, night people, get what we need") which by the way, is catchy as hell and invites listeners to sing along to it. The lyrics are quite dark which reminded me of the Sinners Never Sleep era, creating a symbiosis between Josh's voice, the heavy instrumentation and the lyrics. The only I didn't like about this song, as I said before, is that weird noise at the beginning. I think it's totally unnecessary. Don't worry though, you will get over it after a few listens.

I will review the whole album in depth as soon as I get it and talk about some details I'd like to highlight such as the amazing cover of the album. I absolutely love it. Night People will be released on January the 13th of 2017, and you can already pre-order it. 4/5
